The new owner is Michael Pure, owner/innkeeper of the Margarita Inn, in which the restaurant has resided since its 1989 debut. Chef Alan Lake, a contemporary-minded chef will head up the new kitchen. Last month, many people attended the official ground breaking ceremony for the new CTA Yellow Line station, which will be built near Oakton Street and Skokie Boulevard in downtown Skokie. The project, which should be completed in the fall of 2011, is expected to cost more than $20 million. Officials believe the downtown station is essential to attracting new business to the area as part of a downtown revitalization effort. "I couldn't agree more," said Gina Speckman, executive director of Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The new station will make it easier for even more people to make their way to our area to enjoy all that Skokie and the entire North Shore have to offer."

And, on July 18th, it's the Momentum Band, performing a high-energy variety of today's hits. The concerts are held from 2-4 pm, and each performance consists of two 45-minute sets. Now in its eleventh year, It's Thursday, Let's Dance! heats up downtown Evanston on six consecutive Thursday nights: July 15 (Angel Melendez - Latin Rhythms), July 22 (John Burnett Orchestra - Ballroom Dancing), July 29 (Shirley King - Chicago Blues), August 5 (R-Gang - Motown and R&B), August 12 (Bopology - Jump, Jive and Swing) & August 19 (Billy Croft & The 5 Alarm - Country with a twist). Each week there will be dancing to a live band (7-9 pm) and instruction with a professional dance teacher (beginning at 6 pm). This is a free event and all ages are welcome.
